This April, for his fourth Milan Design Week and the third edition of his MENU Exhibition, Bodo Sperlein has taken over the entire interior and exterior of the All Saints’ Anglican Church located in the heart of Brera, to construct a momentary architectural setting that feels embedded within the church by respecting and utilising its rhythm, proportions, and structural logic.

The installation is defined by a deliberate interplay of materials: reflective metal, cast concrete, glass, porcelain, textile, and light. Surfaces shift between polished and matte, solid and translucent, weight and reflection, creating a layered spatial experience that evolves throughout the day.

Art directed and curated by Bodo, the exhibition uses his latest design collaborations with renowned international brands to celebrate the power of design and the importance of craft and materiality.

In the terrace of the Church, Bodo has curated a scene which features his collections for iconic garden furniture company Garpa, and concrete masters Gravelli, the design-focused sub-brand of Godelmann.

With Garpa, Bodo has designed two abstract patterns, designed to withstand outdoor use through their high-performance jacquard material. With Gravelli, Bodo designed a comprehensive collection of outdoor furniture made to respect the material of concrete, and be used specifically for outdoor use, in order to be used functionally, but also exist as an architectural design. These designs include the Cove Outdoor Kitchen and Bench, and the Cascade Planters and Paving.

Together, Bodo, Gravelli and Garpa have also created the Arcus collection, which was centre stage of the setting, which combined robust concrete, with delicate teak wood, to create a series which defines any outdoor setting it is placed in.

Inside the church, brands Lobmeyr, LZF Lamps, VAN TREECK, Orea AG, Meissen, and Morath Solutions, were joined together to create a cohesive environment to display their respective designs.

Taking over the balcony area, Meissen displayed their iconic designs alongside their newest collaborations with Bodo Sperlein, Phoenix and Edifice, which both told a unique story of respecting the past while moving forward innovatively into a design-led future.

Lobmeyr Lighting lit up the altar with their Orchid designs by Bodo Sperlein, which premiered last Milan Design Week and have returned as a full collection this year, including a floor, wall, and table lamp. Lighting was further provided by the Arabseco Light, designed by Bodo for LZF Lamps, a brand who is showing in Bodo’s exhibition for their fourth time this year.

In the centre of the exhibition, both Morath Solution and Orea AG displayed their latest designs for Bodo, both of which explored unique materials rarely used in design. With Orea, Bodo designed the S2-Line, a direct continuation of his S-Line Kitchen which premiered at MENU 2024, while with Morath Solutions he explored the possibilities with custom-made metal slabs and architectural panels. Particularly striking were the zigzag-shaped wall coverings made of stainless steel, which are highly polished on one side and matt brushed on the edges.

Finally VAN TREECK displayed three unique and exciting projects designed with Bodo, which explored light, shadow and glass. In line with Bodo’s philosophy, the collections Bloom, Arctic and Veil explore the possibilities of glass within a contemporary setting, while respecting the heritage of the prestigious and historic Gustav Van Treeck workshops.

MENU was open to visitors at All Saints Anglican Church, Via Solferino 17, Brera, during Milan Design Week 2026.
