PAD LONDON
During the PAD art fair in London this October, the Orchid Sculptural Light is on show at the prestigious 88 Gallery’s stand.
The PAD Art Fairs are held in London, Paris and Saint Tropez and are exclusively dedicated to historical and contemporary design. The week-long event values conoissership, exquiste taste and curatorial flair, showcasing the very best in modern and contemporary design.
The Orchid Light is Bodo Sperlein’s newest design for Lobmeyr Lighting, and it’s unique take on the biomorphic forms of petals has created a piece which encompasses the values of PAD completely.
Bodo Sperlein has been showing his pieces at 88 Gallery for many years, including his iconic Contourline collection, which can be seen at the Gallery located in Pimlico, London.
The light was hung from 88 Gallery’s stand at the fair, whose theme was EMERGENCE.
“In an artist’s hands, form arises from matter, but it is often something uncontrollable about the process that gives the finished piece its soul and individuality.”
Recently, the Orchid has been growing into a full collection, with the debut of the Orchid Floor Lamp occuring during Vienna Design Week only last month.
