"Blast" is a large-format design inspired by the early 20th-century Vorticist movement, with bold graphic motifs that evoke English modernity. Named after the British Vorticist publication, its striking visual effects create a unique and luxurious ambience. Reinvented by Bodo Sperlein for the new 2020s, "Blast" brings artistic heritage into contemporary interiors.

Founded by Bodo Sperlein in 2000, the studio is based at Oxo Tower Wharf on London's South Bank. Trained at the University of the Arts London, Bodo has spent over two decades building a practice defined by material precision and a quiet confidence in craft. Work from the studio is held in permanent museum collections and appears on tables in Michelin-starred restaurants around the world..

The studio collaborates with leading international manufacturers across furniture, lighting, tableware, and textiles. Recent partners include Meissen, Lobmeyr, Dibbern, GAN Rugs, LZF Lamps, Schotten & Hansen, and Gravelli — brought together most visibly through the studio's annual Menu exhibition at Milan Design Week, which Bodo has curated since 2024. Longer-standing relationships with brands such as Dior, Swarovski, Mulberry, and Nikko reflect the studio's position across both luxury fashion and design manufacturing.
