SCHÖNER WOHNEN
Bodo Sperlein was interviewed for the most recent edition of Schöner Wohnen, where he was asked about his exhibition, MENU, which took place during Milan Design Week in the beautiful All Saints’ Anglican Church in Brera.
One of the designs which Schöner Wohnen was most interested in was the wood veneer pattern wall, designed by Bodo Sperlein for Schotten & Hansen. Premiering at the exhibition, the design of the wall was created with the aim to educate on the versatility of wood design.
As mentioned in the interview, further inspiration for the pattern was to allude to the fact that folk art was a source of inspiration in Art Nouveau and that craftsmanship was strongly promoted during this period.
Another piece discussed in the article is that of the Arden Chair. Handcrafted in Italy from Beechwood, its abstract fir-inspired backrest and precise joinery speak to bespoke craftsmanship and material integrity.
