SCHLOSSSEITEN

In the most recent issue of Schlossseiten Magazine, Bodo was interviewed by Lisa Gasteiger-Rabenstein, covering a range of topics, from his philosophy of creating timeless designs rather than following a trend, to his 2025 edition of Menu during Milan Design Week.

At the core of his approach is a belief in design as a counterpoint to fast consumption, an ethos described in the article as a “new classic.”

Looking ahead, Sperlein expresses a growing interest in working with historic buildings such as palaces and estates, approaching them holistically. His role extends beyond designing individual objects to curating entire environments, respecting heritage while thoughtfully adapting spaces for contemporary use.

I do not design fashionable objects. My aim is to create things that are contemporary but are not dictated by trends.
