ART&ANTIQUE HOFBURG

At the 56th edition of Vienna’s most valuable high-class fair for art, antiques and design, Bodo Sperlein’s designs were centre stage in the beautiful Hofburg Palace.

As the former seat of the Habsburg dynasty, the palace is one of Vienna’s most loved landmarks, and is a testament to the grandeur seen in the Baroque and Rococo eras that defined Viennese history.

Sperlein’s most recent designs were on display, including the Botanica Rugs, designed for GAN Rugs. Pictured above are both the small and large, in two of the three available colours.

A unique, contemporary design created to explore the many faces of nature, the Botanica Rugs were different to the traditional Viennese decor which adorns the Palace, creating an interesting juxtaposition in the room.

The Orchid Floor Lamp, unveiled at the Kammerspiel exhibition a couple of months ago, is the most recent design which Bodo Sperlein has created for the Viennese brand Lobmeyr. An addition to the Orchid line, the Floor Lamp displays Viennese excellence through materiality and form.
